Boxin’ It

You play as a minimum-wage employee who has just landed their first job as an item reseller. Buy boxes, get items, and resell them for profit… but things are not as simple as they seem.

In Boxin’ It, You’ll be purchasing boxes of different sizes: small, medium, and large, from a selection of four distinct catalogs, each with its own pool of items... and possibilities. What you get is always random, but what you do with it is entirely up to you.

Every item in the game is completely unique. There are more than 60 items, each with its own attributes, passive effects, descriptions, and carefully designed visuals. The real depth of the game emerges when you begin to experiment with how these items interact. Boxin’ It features a deep and surprisingly complex synergy system, where combining items in creative ways can drastically increase their value… or completely change how they behave. Some synergies are easy to spot, but many require you to truly think outside the box if you want to maximize your profit.

Your goal is simple: reach the quota before time runs out. To do so, you’ll need to buy, manage, combine, and resell efficiently. But if you fail to think creatively, your boss might decide to send you quite literally outside of the box… you’ll have to discover what that means for yourself.

As you progress, each time you clear a quota you’ll be able to choose between four different upgrades that shape your run. You can increase your movement speed, expand the number of items you can carry on your back, improve your box storage capacity, or unlock entirely new catalogs with fresh item pools to experiment with. These upgrades allow you to adapt your strategy and push further each time you play.

Controls are simple and intuitive: move with WASD and interact with E. The challenge doesn’t come from complexity of controls obviously, but from understanding the items, and discovering powerful combinations.

The game is filled with references and inspirations ranging from titles like ULTRAKILL, Balatro, Half-life, Hollow Knight... , to elements of pop culture such as The Office, among many others hidden throughout the experience.

Try it now and see how far you can push your profit before everything falls apart.

Clip Jonny RaZer's stream of your game and use it to sell this on Steam, he's hyping it up so hard

Great idea, thanks a lot! We're really thrilled with the reception our game received from Jonny and the jam community. We'll definitely do it! We've been laughing a lot at Jonny's reaction hahaha :))

Boxin’ It surprised me quite a bit more than I expected. I got to play it thanks to Alejandro sending it to me, and I honestly enjoyed it a lot.

The idea of buying boxes and reselling items seems simple at first, but once you start playing, you realize there’s a lot more depth to it. The best part for me is the item combinations: each item has its own effects, but the game really shines when you start mixing them together. Finding good synergies is very satisfying and makes you want to keep trying new things.

I also really liked the graphics. Some people might say they look “ugly,” but I think they’re actually quite well-crafted, and I personally like them. It makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

The upgrade system adds a lot of replayability, since each run can be approached differently depending on what you get or what you want to try.

Overall, it’s a very original and entertaining game with great ideas behind it. You can tell there’s a lot of work put into it, and it’s definitely worth checking out.

Very cool, I stopped at 17k money :D

Hey!! Thanks for commenting on my game. Now that I've had a chance to play your I have to say, I like the concept it's a great satire but I have some suggestions.

- Firstly you should improve the UI by adding a timer and so we can feel the urgency.

- The game should be a little bit more lenient on the first two days before ramping up the difficulty.

- Finally it would be really cool if the game had 2 player local coop!

banger but wheres timer?

Heyy!! The timer is behind the boss, you have around 5 minutes to clear the quota, sorry, we know the timer is not very visible, we’re aware of that, but I’m glad you liked the game. It has 4 content catalogs of items and up to 4 types of upgrades, in case you want to keep enjoying it.

ohh ok thanks!
